He gets me. I get him.

I wasn't planning on writing this today. But I have wedding on the brain. All I think about lately is how much I can't wait to marry him and be together forever. And I felt like it was appropriate seeing as though we just passed out 5 year anniversary (June 26th) I know I'm terrible for not blogging about it then .. better late then never.
No one gets me the way Tyler does.
No one will ever understand Tyler, the way I do.
It's hard to explain....
but we get one another.

We both have many imperfections...
We both say things we don't mean.
We both bitch just to bitch.
And we both get frustrated about the bitching.

At the same time...
We'd do anything for one another.
We're very sensitive.
We aren't afraid to shed some tears.
We love hard.
We know were meant for one another.
We know we work, because of who we are ... together.
I don't think that any relationship would ever work with me... had it been anyone else.
No one could ever understand why I do what I do or why I am the way I am, except for Tyler.
And the same goes for him.
I don't think that anyone else could make things work with him.
Or put up with him the way I do.
That goes both ways.
We are perfect for one another.
As much as I hate to admit it at times.
As much as he frustrates me at times.

There is no one else that I could imagine growing old with.
No one else I could imagine being the father of my children.
The grandfather of our grandchildren.
Rocking on our rocking chairs.
And flipping him over a time or two.
And that's why...
We are perfect for one another.

I couldn't imagine growing old with anyone else.
(although at times I just want to strangle him!)

At the end of the day...
I love him.
He loves me.

Random Thursday Post

Everyone needs a good laugh, right? I know I do .. especially today.
I can't wait to go home and put my fat pants on, watch some movies and snuggle with my man.

Onto some laughs ...

Gee I don't know.  I guess if you do forget how to breathe, we won't have to read any more of your dumb-ass questions? Good riddance it will be!

Have you ever heard of the hospital? Why are there people like you, who instead of getting off your arse and seeking professional/medical help, you prefer switching on your PC, open a Yahoo! browser and type away your silly question.
I would like to add: Just like you put on weight when your brain registers new information.

Now, let's hear some of your answers because I'm sure a lot of you can come up with better answers than mine!

Help! My cupcakes have fallen (Part 2) ...

If you haven't read part one, you can do that now here: Help! My cupcakes have fallen (Part 1) ...

These are the pictures from the first night (part 1):

Our yummy cake batter that we thought was going to make the best cupcakes, ever.

When all else fails, wing it .. which is what we are doing in the above picture.

The trashcan was full of failure by the end of the night!

We ended up with these twelve yummy cupcakes.

And these are for our cake pops.

Okay, so we have now ended up with 12 okay decent tasting cupcakes. The only part left we have to do was decorate & assemble our bouquet. Great! This is the fun part. So we whip up the icing. Everything is going great. Heather was making pretty roses and I was making the hydrangeas.

This was my first time ever piping cupcakes to look like flowers. I think I did a pretty good job :)

So in the above picture is our "snowball" in which we were going to arrange our bouquet of flower cupcakes on. The lady in the video we watched on how to learn how to do this made it look so simple. False advertising lady, false advertising. It is not simple. The cupcakes were too fluffy and crumbled easily and the icing was heavy because, I mean, look at our flowers. We got half the bouquet together and then they started cracking. So do be safe we thought we might as well save all the work we had done and not risk the bouquet falling apart and just put them on a plate and arranged them pretty.

So in the end, we ended up with 11 pretty flower cupcakes. They were not in a pretty bouquet like we had planned. But the birthday girl was drunk by the time we got them to her so I don't think she really cared how they were arranged! :)

So to place an order for your cupcake bouquets contact me via e-mail. As you can see we make wonderful arrangements and our bouquets turn out beautifully! HA! SARCASM. I am NEVER doing this EVER again.

Happy Friday Eve! Yes I did just make that up. What can I say, I am very excited for the weekend to get here!

Help! My cupcakes have fallen (Part 1) & So What Wednesday ...

Last night me and my sister-in-law (Heather) got together to make cupcakes for our cupcake bouquet that we were going to put together for our mother-in-law's birthday. We wanted to bake a the cupcakes from scratch, we didn't wanna use a box cupcake mix, pshh, we can do better! Heather is great with baking cakes, cupcakes, all that yummy stuff .. even knows how to do pretty roses that we were planning on doing on these cupcakes .. so we thought no problem, we got this ... WRONG! We followed the directions and did exactly what they said, step by step. The batter tasted delicious. Half way though baking we were to rotate the cupcakes in the oven for even baking (per the directions) as soon as we opened the oven door and didn't even pull the cupcakes half way out to rotate .. the centers of each and every cupcake caved in! We let them continue to bake in hopes that the would rise again. But they didn't. Not only did they not rise but they were still gooey on the inside .. there was nothing we could do to save our cupcakes. How depressing! ... now what?

We had already spend 2 hours preparing and baking these cupcakes and we didn't want to try and re-make them because they obviously didn't turn out the first time, why try again. We toss the cupcakes and hide our evidence (why? you are probably wondering .. you don't know our husbands/boyfriends). We start thinking .. and thinking .. and then Heather pulls out a box of white cake mix (box cake mix, yes, but what other option did we have at this point .. we had already failed at our first attempt) .. but it was white cake .. we needed it to be chocolate. So we pull out our phones and start googling away on how to turn white cake mix to chocolate. You would be surprised at some of the things we found online .. such as, "yes, it is possible to turn white cake to chocolate cake all you need to do is add chocolate" .... no shit sherlock! We knew you can't just add chocolate and be done .. there were lots of ingredients that needed to be added as well .. we couldn't find more than one website that gave us the same answer, so we started winging it .. we are bakers after all, right? We got this. No, Ashley .. you don't "got this" .. remember, that's what you guys said last time and you see how that turned out! So we start testing our originally white, now chocolate cake mix .. taste okay .. so we bake one cupcake at a time to make sure it doesn't cave on us again ( because then we would be total failures ) .. and to make sure it tasted good.

NO ONE could know we used a box! Meanwhile the boys are in the living room playing their stupid fighting games .. totally oblivious that it has now taken us close to 3 hours to bake 24 cupcakes .. We could not let them know that our cupcakes failed us .. we would have been made fun of forever. All we would hear is that they could kill their stupid dragon on their game (which by the way took them the same amount of time to do as it did for us to bake cupcakes, fail, come up with our own recipe, test it out a bunch of times, and then finally get it right, close to 4 hours total .. so really boys, you can't be that good :P ) but we couldn't even manage to bake some damn cupcakes! Oh, we would never hear the end of it.

Back to our cupcakes! We baked one cupcake at a time .. the first time, the cupcake cave in! YAY! It was light and fluffy and looked like a yummy chocolate cupcake .. and tasted like ass nothing. No taste to it at all. Back to the drawing board .. we start throwing in some more ingratiates to make it more chocolaty .. we added crushed chocolate chips! DUH! And mayonnaise (who knew!? I didn't ..) We baked another single cupcake and ta-da! We got ourselves what we call angel food chocolate chunk cupcakes (from scratch of course)! See, I told you we got this. So we fill our cupcake liners up .. 24 total .. put em' in the oven and bake for the same amount of time that we were baking our "test cupcakes" for. ... 18 minutes later ... As we pull the cupcakes out of the oven we smell a slight burnt smell. But, our cupcakes look good so what is that burning? Heather says "the bottoms!" .. yes, the bottoms, the bottoms of about half of our cupcakes are burnt black .. OH WELL! All that matters is that we have atleast 12 for our bouquet! The boys don't really need the other 12 that we promised them anyway, right? So in the end we ended up with 12 nothing special, but yummy tasting cupcakes .. and the other 12 that were burnt .. well, we cut the bottoms off  and are using the tops to make cake pops! DUH! that was our plan all along ;)

Part two coming soon .. (with pictures)

This little guy hung out with mommy and Aunt Ashley in the kitchen & kept us smiling even through the cupcake disaster!

This week I'm saying SO WHAT:

- If it took us a total of 4 hours to bake 12 cupcakes.
- That we are the only ones (plus my readers) who know that we ended up using a box cake mix.
- That I dress like it is fall everyday because my office is freezing.
- If because of that people look at me strage when it's close to 100 degrees out when I leave the office.

Mission Impossible

I'm sorry I have totally been MIA since Friday. I spent most of my weekend either relaxing (which is nice for a change) and shopping for an office chair.

I am in search of a white one.

<-----LIKE THIS ONE

I feel like this is impossible .. impossible for my budget anyway. The only white office chairs I am able to find are somewhere around $300! While I would love to spend money on a nice comfortable office chair will I will be spending a good bit of my time, the boyfriend doesn't think it is reasonable to spend that much money on a chair. Boo! :(  If anyone has any ideas on where to get a cheaper version of this chair, please, please let me know! Until then .. I will continue what seems to feel like an impossible search for my white office chair.

My second choice would be a blue chair, similar in look and color to the one below:

I would prefer if it had wheels, but at this point its not a necessity, I just want a damn chair! Right now we are using a bar stool, can I tell you how uncomfortable this is?!

Besides that we don't have very much going on. Today after work we have someone from an Australian Shepherd Rescue coming to evaluate our one year old Australian Shepherd. His name is Locke. Unfortunately we have to find him a new home due to my asthma to dogs and my allergies. If my asthma and allergies were anything close to "normal" then I would 100% deal with the sneezing and itchy eyes just to be able to keep our dog. But, unfortunately, this is not the case. I have been hospitalized many times due to the severity of my asthma. I cannot breathe in my own home on a daily basis, it is torture. (Tyler even saved my life one time, that is how bad it got). I'll save that story for another time.

And after that, we are headed to my sister-in-law's to bake cupcakes while the boys do "guy things" aka play video games! We are making a cupcake bouquet for our mother-in-law for her birthday. I got the idea off of Pinterest and wanted to try it .. so we are! I will take pictures and let you guys know how it turns out. My sister-in-law is wonderful with baking yummy cakes and icing so we'll have fun!

Have a great day everyone!

Does anyone else ...

Does anyone else sit at home and watch re-run's on demand? I'm talking shows that are no longer on air, and you just miss them so much that you restart watching them all over again from season one? Yeah, I'm guilty of this. I'm talking MTV Laguna Beach and The Hills. I can't get enough. I love me some Lauren Conrad and Brody Jenner. I know, I know, reality TV .. so bad for you but, you can't get enough of it. But, honestly, you've got to admit, this show was much better than another one of my guilty pleasures like Jersey Shore, or Snooki and JWoww's spin off, which is on tonight, and I'm not gonna sit here and lie .. this is totally going to be the highlight of my night! Lame, I know. Oh well!

I got a make over!

Okay, I, myself did not get a make-over .. but my blog did! I was up all night designing it ( I am now regretting this because I had to get up early for work this morning! .. Not even a cup of coffee is waking me up, I could fall asleep at my desk.. ) Anyways, It's still not exactly what I want it to be, but it is slowly getting there. I love the grey/blue color scheme and I'm trying my best to get all the colors to match. Last night I was making my header, which I think I'm pretty happy with. And I made my "home", "about me", "home tour" buttons, those need to be changed, they are the wrong color. But I didn't have the time to do it last night, I was falling asleep at my computer while working in photoshop, it was time for me to go to bed. When I did, I passed out .. and ended up over sleeping this morning. I don't think my employers unerstand the importance of my blogging while at work ..

Let me know what you guys think of the new design!

House Tour *our office*

Our office is slowly coming together. Right now, Ty and I are sharing this little space but once we finish our basement and it becomes his "man cave" this space becomes all mine. I only have a picture of my side of the office because, well, his side is boring and there is nothing too exciting to show, as of now anyways. Last night I re arranged the office desks and hung these four frames with quotes. I love them. I'm hoping the color scheme for this space to be cool blue/grey/white. I already found curtains that I want to hang, here. Along with buying them I am going to frame some of my photography work and frame it above the couch that is oposite side of my desk you see pictured. As we get this room completed (we are in no rush) I will keep posting!

I know the sayings are kind of hard to see from so far away. I will update later with better pictures!

Stay tuned!

Blogger 411 ( a link-up )

Today I am linking up with one of my favorite bloggers Becky over at From Mrs. to Mama for the Bloggers 411! I hope you all enjoy reading a little bit about me. I know I look forward to getting to know the rest of the bloggers who link up as well!
How long have you been blogging? And what got you started on blogging? Has your blog changed?

I just started blogging in May of this year. I spend a lot of time on Pinterest and a lot of things I was interested in where bringing me to peoples blogs. I thought it seemed like something fun to do. We just bought our house and I thought it would be a way to document our progress as we re-do rooms in our house. Show before and after pictures. Ect..  I originally started this blog out as {Ashley & Tyler} but seeing as my guy has no interest what-so-ever in blogging, I changed my name .. at first I thought he would be insulted or upset if I didn't include him in the name, seeing as I am blogging about us and our life journey together, but that wasn't the case. It's still about us and our life together, but there was no need to put his name on the blog so I changed it to what I wanted it to be :)

Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study?

I went the local community college for 2 semesters for business and decided it wasn't for me. I then attended The Art Institute of Philadelphia and studied Photography. I have not yet graduated with a degree, and right now I'm taking a break on the whole college thing and trying to focus on getting my photography business started without spending lots of money on school. It's a slow process, but it's getting there.

Where have you traveled?
The first time I ever traveled was when I was just 3 months old, my parents took me to the Dominican Republic for 2 weeks over Christmas and New Years. My dad is from the Dominican and  his entire side of the family still lives down there to this day. We visit often. Up until about a few years ago we went every year, every Christmas. So that it too many trips to even count! Besides my frequent trips to the Dominican Republic I have also been to the following states: California, Wisconsin, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina & Florida .. all for fun and or to visit family.

If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?

I would buy Ty his motorcycle that he wants so badly. Then I would go on a shopping spree, I'm in desperate need of a new wardrobe! I would probably pay off my car, and then start doing all the things we want to get done on the house like finishing the basement, a total kitchen make-over. Oh the possibilities!

What are your 3 biggest pet peeves?

Leaving dirty socks on the floor! Ahemm .. Tyler. I swear I pick up this boys socks everyday! We DO have laundry baskets! Use them!

When people call me, I miss their call, call back 30 seconds later and they don't answer! You DID just call me, so why aren't you answering now?!

Chewing .. oh this is the worst. I feel bad because sometimes I can't help myself it drives me nuts. When we are sitting next to eachother and I'm not eating, and the other person is, and I can hear them chewing. Even though they are chewing with their mouth closed. I can still hear you! There is a medical term for this pet peeve of mine .. it is called Misophonia.

What is your favorite movie?

Old(er) movie: Sweet Home Alabama   New current movie: The Hunger Games

What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea?

Wine & Soda .. although I do drink a lot of water at work, but when given the choice I usually choose Soda.

What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time?

watch re run's of my favorite shows on demand, painting my nails and photography.

If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be?

Oh gosh, this is tough. The girly girl in me would probably say something like Urban Outfitters or Anthropology so I could buy all the clothes I ever wanted .. BUT the grown up in me since buying our house would most likely say Target. Seriously, I got excited over the vacuum cleaner we bought last week! (not at Target, but still) You can seriously get everything you could ever possibly need there. Weather it be stuff for the home or shoes and bags. You can NEVER walk out of target empty handed!

Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present.

When Ty and I first started dating 5 years ago, he was over my house one day and we were messing around, play fighting/wrestling (Tyler use to wrestle, he often likes to test out "cool new moves" on me ..) anyways, in the midst of all of this the worst thing that could ever happen when you first start dating a guy .. you know the part where everything is rainbows and butterflies and neither of you do anything wrong, you both always smell and look great, you know, that part .. I fart. I was so embarrassed I put my face in my hands and after a few seconds all I could get out of my mouth was "OMG, you think I'm so gross, you probably don't even want to date me anymore!" Obviously that wasn't the case seeing as we are still together 5 years later. He laughed, he thought it was funny. I did not .. Looking back on it now it is pretty funny. But still, very embarrassing at the time!

What day would you love to relive again?

I would have to say the last time I saw my grandmother, my dad's mom. She lived in the Dominican Republic and about a year and a half ago she was on her daily walk and was hit by a car that was speeding. She got to the hospital, but ending up passing away that same day from massvie internal bleeding. We didn't get to talk often, she only speaks spanish, and my spanish isn't the greatest. We managed, and even with the language barier she never had trouble letting us know how much she missed us and loved us. So, I would love to be able to re-live the last time I saw her, just so we could make the most of it. And so that I could tell her how much I love her one more time.

If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you?

I would have to say Mila Kunis. She is such a great actress and she is super funny! As am I, duh!

What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?

My very first job was when I was 15. I worked at McDonalds.

Show us a picture from high school or college.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?

I would travel to Europe. I really want to see Italy, France, Germany, Spain .. I'd love to see it all!

Where do you see your life 5 years from now?

Married with atleast one child. Most likely still in the home we are in now. Hopefully with my Photography business in full swing, working from home so I can still be a stay at home mom.

Sunday Social: Vacations

Sunday Social

Today I am linking up with Neely for Sunday Social!

Best trip you've ever been on

This would probably have to be our trip to the Outer Banks. I actually just wrote about this trip a few days ago not realizing I would be answering this question! Anyways, Tyler and I went to the Outer Banks for a week with his entire family. Besides the 8 1/2 hour drive each way, it was a blast. We spent all week laying by the pool, laying on the beach, cooking great food and drinking from the stocked outside bar. Hey, this family knows how to do a family vacation right! This is a picture of the house we stayed in. Right on the beach, it was amazing!

Best idea for a girls weekend trip

A weekend get away to NYC for sure. I've done this with a few of my girlfriends and we had a great time! Sight-seeing, shopping and girl talk!

Best idea for a couples trip

In a world where we could afford any vacation we wanted, I would have to say Europe, I want to go to Italy so bad, Tyler wants to go to Germany and Ireland. That would be the perfect vacation. But in reality we can't afford that. Not right now anyway. So for what we could afford, I would have to say maybe Florida! Sunshine, beach and romance!

Best vacation on the cheap

I would probably say a weekend get away to the nearest beach. You can drive and the more people who go and split gas the cheaper it is! Plus around here the nearest beaches are in New Jersey and you can get a pretty cheap hotel for the weekend! And it's always fun to walk the boardwalk and ride the rides.

Place you most want to visit

Italy. Tyler and I want to go soo bad. These views and wine tasting?? What more could a girl want? One day!

Vacation/Travel necessities

My whole closet? Cute swim suits! I'm a terrible packer! When I go to get dressed in the morning I can't find anything to wear, but when I'm packing there are so many possibilities that I need to bring it all!
